Earlier DigitalOcean demo estimate
This is an earlier alternative-provider scenario, not the live Google Cloud deployment. For the current infrastructure and $100 ceiling, see Resource plan.
Estimate in USD before tax, checked November 4, 2026. The demo uses one Linux VM and up to three concurrent workers. For a remote demo, bind the hub to the VM’s loopback interface and connect via SSH port forwarding. Management still requires TLS and an individual bearer token.
| Scenario | Calculation | Estimated cost |
|---|---|---|
| Existing computer with Docker | Additional VM rental | $0 |
| Eight-hour rehearsal and demo | 8 × $0.03571 | $0.29 |
| One day of hosting | 24 × $0.03571 | $0.86 |
| Full month | Monthly compute cap | $24.00 |
| Full month including weekly backups | $24 × 1.20 | $28.80 |
The estimate uses the Basic Regular plan with two shared vCPUs, 4 GiB of memory and 80 GiB of disk. The provider lists $0.03571 per hour and a $24 monthly cap. The Basic weekly backup plan adds 20 percent of the VM cost. Droplet pricing · Backup pricing
At the default limits three workers together receive 1.5 CPUs and 384 MiB. The operating system, Docker and hub use the rest of the machine. Adding a replica within that budget does not rent another VM. These estimates exclude GPU time, external model APIs, S3 storage, domains, excess network traffic and engineering time. Production capacity requires workload-specific measurements.
